Lorin Starr received her M.S. in Interior Design from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  She was an interior designer for UMASS Housing Services and has taught courses in both Interior Design and Architectural Drawing at the University.  From 1994-2004 Lorin was the interior designer for Juster Pope Frazier Architects where her projects included the renovation of more than ten dormitories at Smith College and the interior design for the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art (Amherst, MA).  Lorin Starr worked as a consultant for Lukas Design beginning in  1999.   She served as a partner in Lukas Design from 2004-2011, where she continued to focus on educational projects.  In 2011 she began LORINSTARR INTERIORS.

Lorin is active in the local community both personally and professionally.  She serves as Executive Director of the  Western Massachusetts Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.    A member of her town’s Board of Library Trustees, Lorin chaired the building committee for the Sunderland Public Library – a $2.5 million facility that opened in April 2004.  She currently chairs Sunderland’s  120 North Main Street Committee that is working to develop elderly affordable housing.
