LORIN STARR INTERIORS provides interior design services for a full range of building types: dormitories, academic and administrative office spaces, and a variety of public areas.    Projects include extensive dormitory upgrades, lounges, hospitality spaces, specialized campus residences, offices, classrooms, and areas within libraries and museums.  LORIN STARR can provide full coordination for interior design projects.  We are also pleased to be part of a design team selected by the client, whether for new construction, renovations, or projects associated with mechanical/envelope improvements.  We have worked in conjunction with many architectural and engineering firms over the years. We can also provide interior selections for small projects to facilitate an institution’s purchasing bid process.

Total Interior Refurbishing
Scope may include programming, space planning, electrical planning, bid-ready selections and schedules for flooring materials, paint, wallcovering, lighting, window treatments, furnishings, and artwork.
Programming and Space Planning
Scope may include programming with a user group to identify needs, space planning, inventories and all interior specifications required for a project.
Design Standards
Finish, furnishing, building lighting, or ergonomic standards to facilitate purchasing, implement sustainable initiatives, establish quality control, maintain a desired design aesthetic, and promote facility identity.
Miscellaneous Repairs and Upgrades
Single specifications to work within an existing interior scheme such as selected carpet replacement or reupholstery.
Dormitory Surveys
Extensive review of existing conditions to establish refurbishing priorities and provide budgets for long-range planning in public areas and/or student rooms and corridors.
Proposals for Design Projects
Preparation of brochures/promotional materials for proposed design projects for donor solicitations or other purposes.
