HAVEN HOUSE
Smith College

Complete building renovation 2007
Scope: Provided interior design services for all public areas, corridors and bathrooms in conjunction with major renovation, including the selection of all furniture and finishes.

Haven House is one of the mid-size dormitories that dot the Smith College campus. The building, originally built as a home in 1864-65, was purchased by the College in 1899. The 2007 renovation included an upgrade of all mechanical systems and reconfigured the building in several significant ways. The dining room was redesigned to be a commodious social/living room space. A small student room with enclosed porch was repurposed to public use as a study and gathering space. A series of small formal reception rooms became student living space and several of the student rooms were reconfigured as suites.
